How to bet

Ten steps, one slip.

From opening an account to a settled bet. Nothing here is hidden: the stake and the potential return are shown before you confirm, and every bet you place is listed in My Bets.

  1. Register

    Open an account with your name, date of birth, email, password and address. You must be 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom, and accept the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Marketing consent is separate and optional.

  2. Verify email

    We send a link to the address you gave. The account is activated only when you open it; the link works once and for 24 hours. No email — request a new link from the verification page.

  3. Complete verification

    Before your first withdrawal — and earlier if a check is triggered — upload a photo ID in Verification. The status moves from Verification Required to Pending while we check it, and to Verified only after a person has confirmed the document.

  4. Deposit

    Choose a payment method in your own name and an amount. Card and e-wallet deposits are credited immediately; a bank transfer shows as pending until it arrives. Deposit limits, if you set them, are enforced here. How payments work.

  5. Select an event

    Open Racing for today's meetings or Virtual Racing for a race every three minutes. Each race shows its off time, runners, going and status. Betting closes at the off.

  6. Choose a market

    Win — your runner must finish first. Each-Way — two bets in one: a win part and a place part at a fraction of the odds, so the stake doubles. Win Pool — your stake joins a pool and the dividend is declared after the race. Details in the Betting Rules.

  7. Add a selection to the bet slip

    Tap the price next to a runner. It goes to the bet slip in the dock at the bottom of every page (and the slip tile on the home page). One selection per race; tapping another runner in the same race replaces it, tapping the same one removes it.

  8. Enter a stake

    Type an amount or use the quick chips. The slip shows the total stake (double for Each-Way) and the potential return, including your stake, before you confirm. The minimum stake is £0.10.

  9. Place the bet

    Press Place bet. The system checks that the race is still open, that the price has not moved and that your balance covers the stake. If a price changed, the slip shows the new one and asks you to place again — a bet is never accepted at a price you did not see.

  10. Check the result

    Results appear on the Results page and settle your bets automatically, usually within minutes of the official result. Winnings go straight to your balance.

Where your bets live

My Bets in your account has two lists. Open Bets are placed and waiting for a result: date, event, selection, odds, stake and the potential return. Settled Bets show the result, the actual return and the status — Won, Lost or Void. Every movement of money — stakes, winnings, deposits, withdrawals — is in Transaction History.

Prices are shown as fractions by default (5/2 means £2.50 profit for every £1 staked); switch to decimals (3.50, stake included) in Profile or with the toggle on the slip.
